Health is considered to be the most favorable or optimum state of something. When this word is attached to a prefix ‘mental’ it means Mental health is the optimum state of mind. 

Mental health means a relaxed and active mind.

Mental health is as important as physical health. Our body works like a machine in which the mind plays the role of software and the body is the hardware. The mind has all the controls of body functions. Our mind controls all kinds of hormonal secretions. Whatever we feel is a game of mind. So, basically, it’s all about the mind.

          “Mental Health means the working of the brain is normal or is in its optimum state.”  When a mind is stress-free, relaxed to cope with any reasoning of life it can be considered to be in its optimum state. Since everyone has different capabilities to solve the problems so it may differ from person to person. So, the baseline of the definition is to be stress-free.

What are mental health problems?

                           Those mental conditions which affect the functioning of the brain, or create a disturbance in the basic functioning of the body {like problems in digestion, sleeping patterns, change in the mood etc} are considered to be mental health problems. Mental problems are also called Mental disorders. 

Types of mental disorders :

  2. Anxiety disorder 
  3. Bipolar disorder 
  4. Dementia 
  5. Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) 
  6. Autism
  7. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

          Since the brain is the control unit of the body. It creates a huge impact on physical health. Simple anxiety can cause headache and digestion related problems, it also led to diabetes, hair loss and many more. Poor mental health reduces the ability of the body to fight with many chronic diseases.

It increases the efficiency of a person. If you are fit mentally then you can do anything possible in this world. But if you are not, you can’t even handle the burden of this merciless world.

         Being mentally ill will directly affect the decision-making ability of a person after all mind is the decision maker . Along with many health issues, it creates a lot of social, economical and emotional problems . As a person suffering from any mental illness becomes very arrogant. It directly impacts the social life of that person. Since Human beings are social animals and every aspect of our life is connected with society. A bad social life of a person creates a huge problem for his economical and emotional issues. Hence it is important to look after the health of mind.

 Why do we need good and properly functioning software in our PCs? 

We need it so that our PCs can work properly. Similarly, a relaxed mind is important for us so that we can live our lives happily and enjoy it.

  2. Meet the people you like, and spend time with them. 
  3. Do what you love to (e.g singing, dancing, travelling etc) 
  4. Move out of the place (i.e city, village) 
  5. Read books / watch movies to stop yourself from overthinking. 
  6. Don’t lose hope
  7. Try to understand the situation. 
  8. Relax, take proper rest/sleep.
